The bridge is the pathway we follow to hear and listen to each other and seek to genuinely understand each other. It is how we achieve and seek to value an environment of open and authentic courageous communication. Open, authentic, effective and courageous communication practices must be intentional and enforced throughout any organization in order to be able to bridge the communication gap that exists. The senior most executives must be responsible for setting this precedent and lead by example. HR managers must also ensure the people they hire understand teams are communicating well and employees are feeling heard and valued. They must also ensure employees are well trained in the technologies used within the organization and that there are planned mentorship programs executed properly. Creating concise communication channels and maintaining them with a respectful tone, encouraging inquisitiveness of employees and providing a wholesome learning and working experience are all key aspects in this respect. There must be a healthy blend of traditional and modern communication practices and a careful selection of communication styles to be used throughout the organization as well as between and among various divisions and teams.
